Change in busing affects 10 students The loss of bus transportation to and from school in the Freehold Regional High School District will only affect 10 students this year.Information provided by a district spokesman on Aug. 27 clarified a letter that had been posted on the FRHSD’s Internet website. According to the letter that was posted on the website, students who live less than a half-mile from the high school they attend would have been denied bus transportation to and from school beginning this week. The spokesman clarified the letter by saying that any student who would have had to walk on or across what district officials consider to be a hazardous route would not have been denied bus transportation. In the end, he said, the change only affects a total of 10 students in Freehold Borough and Freehold Township who will no longer be provided with bus transportation to and from school. The FRHSD operates six schools that serve eight municipalities and enroll approximately 11,800 students. |
