Manalapan Under the Stars returns June 12
MANALAPAN — The township’s annual community celebration, Manalapan Under the Stars, will be held on June 12 at the Manalapan Recreation Center.
The fun and festivities will commence at 4 p.m. and run until just after a fireworks finale lights up the sky.
Manalapan Under the Stars will feature food, entertainment, exhibits, displays, vendors, children’s rides, pony rides, strolling characters and a new carnival area.
Entertainment will include Icon Dance Complex dancers, Speed Limit Band, and Tommy James and the Shondells performing their hits including “Crimson and Clover,” “Mony, Mony” and “Hanky Panky.”
Tommy G, “The Leader of the Late Night,” will serve as master of ceremonies.
Donations of supplies and nonperishable food will be accepted on behalf of the Samaritan Center, a local food pantry that provides assistance to residents of Manalapan, Englishtown, Marlboro and Millstone Township.
In case of rain on June 12, Tommy James and the Shondells will perform at Manalapan High School, Church Lane, at 8:15 p.m. Admission to the concert will be free and limited to the capacity of the high school auditorium.
Parking for Manalapan Under the Stars will be available at the municipal complex, at Manalapan High School, at the Manalapan Recreation Center Dreyer lot and at Temple Beth Shalom.
A shuttle bus will run all evening from the Covered Bridge adult community clubhouse starting at 4 p.m. The last bus will depart from the recreation center 30 minutes after the conclusion of the fireworks.
