Bernard “Benny” W. McDermott Mr. McDermott, 80, of Howell, died Jan. 29, 2010, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. He was born in Queens, N.Y., and had lived in West Palm Beach, Fla., and Iron Mountain, Mich., prior to settling in Howell in 1990. He had owned Benny’s Janitorial Service in Iron Mountain, Mich., and owned and operated Atomic Power Washing in Florida. He was predeceased by a son, Michael McDermott; and two nephews, Richard Schnabl and Scott Fourquet. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara, and her husband Ken Lloyd of Howell; a daughter-in-law, Sherri Mc- Dermott of Little Egg Harbor; two stepsons, Jaime of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Danny of Chicago, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Dana, and her husband, Bill Eyers of Oconomowoc, Wis.; a brother, James Iadarola of New York City; four sisters, Catherine Visconi of Glendale, N.Y., Judy and her husband, Arnold Sabino of Garden City, N.Y., Louisa Scanlon of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., and Philomena, and her husband, Richard Schnabl. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell, followed by entombment in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140. Arrangements were by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. |
