Entries sought for Belmar art exhibit The Belmar Arts Council (BAC) announces a call for submissions to its “Walk the Line” drawing exhibition. The show is open to artists age 17 and older working in graphite, ink, or other drawing/ linear medium.This year’s juror will be Marcel Franquelin, who received a traditional artistic education in France, at Les Beaux-Arts and the University of Lille, before teaching art and art history in France and later in the United States. More details and his portfolio may be viewed on www.marcelfineart. com. Entries will be received from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Boatworks, the BAC headquarters at 608 River Road, Belmar. The exhibition will be displayed Feb. 27 through March 24, with an opening reception Feb. 20 from 5-8 p.m. During the reception awards will be presented for best in show, first place, and second place. Artists should note that all artwork must be original and not previously exhibited in a BAC show. Two pieces per artist may be entered with the maximum of one piece to be accepted for exhibition. Acceptance is not guaranteed. The entry fee is $25 per piece for nonmembers or $15 per piece for BAC members. Sales of work are encouraged, but not required. An entry form and complete details can be obtained online at www.BelmarArts.org. The programs of the nonprofit BAC are funded by dues, donations and grants.
