      Church slates book discussion and study
            COLTS NECK — The Colts Neck Reformed Church, 72 Route 537, invites members of the community to join a small group to read and study "The Prodigal God" by Timothy Keller. The study will last six weeks and meet in the church's LaPenta Lounge on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 14.

            Arc Resources Unlimited, an employment program for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in conjunction with the Management of Freehold Raceway Mall was host to a group of 19 students from Colts Neck High School.

            The Jersey Shore Rose Society, an affiliate of the American Rose Society, will hold a meeting 1:30-3:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Hamilton First Aid Building, 3600 Route 33, Neptune. At the meeting, Pat Bilson will discuss rose arrangements.

      SCORE Chapter 36 is tops in New Jersey
            Claude Hagleberg, District 299 director, announced that SCORE Chapter 36 of Monmouth County was selected as the New Jersey SCORE Chapter of the Year. This accomplishment was based upon the community support that SCORE Chapter 36 afforded Monmouth County in 2009.

      Brain injury basics will be discussed Jan 5
            The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey will offer its free educational session Brain Injury Basics for Families on Jan. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Dorbrook Park Activity Center, 209 Route 537 east, Colts Neck. The program, designed for family members of people who have sustained brain injuries, provides a presentation and forum for questions.
