Hospital auxiliary slates trip to A.C. on Dec. 25
      The CentraState Medical Center Auxiliary will host a Christmas day trip to the Trump Marina Hotel in Atlantic City on Dec. 25. The cost of $30 includes $25 back in cash plus $5 for food. No one under age 21 will be allowed on the trip.

Winter camp slated at CentraState Dec. 28-30
      CentraState Healthcare System is accepting enrollments to "Food, Physiology, Fitness & Fun," a science workshop winter camp program for kids at the Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township. The camp will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 28-30 and is open to children in grades five, six, seven and eight.

Prom dress program will be held at library
      Beginning in December, the Howell Public Library, 318 Old Tavern Road, will accept gently used prom gowns as part of its second annual "Sweet Seconds" program. Dresses must be no more than four years old, clean, in pristine condition, on a hanger and preferably in a dry cleaning bag.

Secrets of Soil poster contest announced
      Over 90 students from Middlesex and Monmouth counties learned about the Secrets of Soil by participating in the 2009 Conservation Poster Contest. Students in grades 2-12 were encouraged to discover the importance of soil and to illustrate their ideas in poster form.

      The Arthritis Foundation, New Jersey chapter's 34th annual Award Gala, "Let's Move Together — A Moving Evening for a Cure," was held Dec. 5 at the Sheraton Parsippany in Parsippany.
