      Letters provide look at two sides of society
            While perusing the Nov. 18 edition of the News Transcript, I was struck by the juxtaposition across the fold of two seemingly unrelated letters to the editor. However, they both deal with "documents" of one sort or another.

      Freehold Twp. winners appreciate support
            We would like to take this opportunity to thank Freehold Township residents for their support in our reelection on Nov. 3. It is sincerely our pleasure and honor to serve the community in our capacity as Township Committee members.       Failure to teach our children world history will cost us in the end
            This letter is in response to a letter from Jacquelin Duffy that was published in the News Transcript on Nov. 4 ("Objectors to the President Still Have the Right to Speak"). It is a real shame and disgrace to our younger generation that some people have seen fit to water down or eliminate world history in our school system.

      Closing youth detention center will not be best option
            While I congratulate John Curley on his recent victory (election to the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders), his comments in the Nov. 11 issue of the News Transcript with respect to our juvenile detention facility are misleading and incorrect.
