      Coat drive under way in Manalapan
            Manalapan Township will be participating in the 14th annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive. Gently used coats may be dropped off at the Manalapan Township Municipal Building, 120 Route 522, in the administration office. Coats will be collected until Dec. 11. Details: 732-446-8303.

      'Search For Christmas' features local actors
            Lighthouse Productions, a Christian theater company founded by Rachel Ryan, Eatontown, and Russ Scalzo, Oceanport, will present "The Search for Christmas," 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5, and 2 p.m. Dec. 6, at St. John Vianney High School, Line Road, Holmdel. The original Christmas musical features nine new songs.

            Irwin Service Center, 4000 Route 9 south, Freehold Township, is collecting food for the Open Door Food Pantry, Throckmorton Street, Freehold Borough, during the month of November. Every item donated will earn $1 off a customer's service bill.

      Local piano students perform in New York
            Carnegie Hall, New York City, hosted a concert recently that featured performances by 32 top young musicians. Presented by the National Music Certificate Program, the concert celebrated the accomplishments of Certificate of Excellence winners in the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

      Youth Chorale will present holiday events
            The Concordia Youth Chorale will present the American premiere of "I'll Make Me a World" by Anthony Hedges, and carol settings for soloists and for choir, 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at Middletown United Methodist Church, 924 Middletown-Lincroft Road. The concert is free, and a free-will offering will be collected.

      Holiday concert to be held in Manalapan
            The Manalapan Arts Council will present a concert by the Manalapan Symphony Orchestra at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Manalapan Englishtown Middle School, 155 Millhurst Road, Manalapan. The performance, "Champagne Pops!," will include a mix of classic favorites, from Rossini overtures to Strauss waltzes.

            • The Goddard School, 50 Route 520, Morganville section of Marlboro, will host a Jingle Bell Jump at 10 a.m. Dec. 2 to raise money for the Children's Arthritis Foundation. They will be covering all floors with bubble wrap and each child will wear jingle bells on their ankles and jump on the bubble wrap to the music of the "Jingle Bell Rock.
