      Thanks to all who made Her Night Out a success at Avanti Day Resort
            Avanti Day Resort's "Her Night Out" campaign on Oct. 19 was a huge success. We were able to raise $2,350, which was donated to CancerCare, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and to our featured guest, Tina Tinervia. Tina and her 6-year-old daughter, Ashlee, enjoyed their girls' night out, while bringing attention to Tina's fight against cancer.

            It is with a great deal of honor and humility that I write to sincerely thank the residents of Freehold Borough who returned me to the office of councilwoman. I love this town and I proudly serve to represent its citizens.

      Resident treated like a criminal for failing to license dog
            Attention, Marlboro dog and cat owners, do not let your $12 animal license expire. The local government has apparently discovered a new and creative way to increase the town's revenue. In July, a summons was sent to me by Marlboro Township with a "mandatory court appearance" for failure to renew one of two dog licenses.

      FAAN Walk co-chairs thank all who offered assistance
            The city of Long Branch hosted the second annual Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy on Sept. 12. Despite the rain, nearly 1,000 people came out to walk along the boardwalk. Upon our 6 a.m. arrival, the storm's disturbance to the beach was staggering.

            AARP thanks representatives Rush Holt and Frank Pallone for their votes in favor of better health care for every New Jerseyan.
