      Joseph Quartier, 56, of Ocean Gate passed away on Monday, October 19th, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Quartier was born in Hackensack, was raised in Colts Neck and had lived in Freehold before moving to Ocean Gate. He attended Marlboro High School.

      Mr. Quartier worked at Fire Places Unlimited, Bayville, for the past 6 years. Horses were a part of his life for many years. He was a thoroughbred trainer, racing in New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Florida.

      He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Anne Quartier. He is survived by his brother, Robert Quartier and his wife, Barbara; a niece, Robin Andrus and her husband, Christopher and their children, James and Ryan; a nephew, Franky Quartier and many dear friends, especially Vicki and David.

      Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. on Wednesday, October 21st, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM followed by his 7:00 PM funeral service.
