Dog walk at park to benefit dystonia
      The Central Jersey Dystonia Support and Action Group will host its fourth annual "Dogs for dystonia…a dog walk and so much more" at Turkey Swamp Park, Georgia Road, Freehold Township, from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 11. Registration is $15 per dog. Scheduled activities include a dog walk at the lake, contests, face painting, dog glamour photos, demonstrations and games.

Free dog/cat rabies clinic in Manalapan
      The Manalapan Township Board of Health will sponsor a free rabies immunization clinic for dogs and cats on Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center building on Route 33 West in Manalapan. All dogs must be on a leash and cats confined to carriers.

      The Manalapan Medical Reserve Corps and Community Emergency Response Team (MRC-CERT) invites the community to donate items for shipment to the American troops overseas. Harmony Society to perform, seeks singers
      The Red Bank area chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will perform at 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at Harvest Day at Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel. The 40- man chorus and featured quartets will perform songs in four-part harmony. The chorus invites male singers of all ages and voice parts to attend open rehearsals at 7:30 p.m.

      • The Freehold Art Society will hold a meeting and demonstration at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. Dhriti Bagchi, a Manalapan artist, will demonstrate "Alpana" decorative painting. This native art is done with rice paste. She learned this traditional technique in West Bengal in southeastern India.
