      Dr. Alan Bass has announced the opening of his office, Central Jersey Foot and Ankle Care, PC, at its new location at 98 Craig Road, Manalapan. Bass offers fullservice lower extremity foot and ankle care for all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. He is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. Dr. Bass offers non-invasive vascular testing for circulatory related diseases of the lower leg and diagnostic ultrasound for soft tissue diseases of the lower leg and foot.       Thomas L. Warenkiewicz of Marlboro, a financial professional with AXA Advisors in Woodbridge, recently attended the company's At Retirement Forum held at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia. Warenkiewicz has more than 37 years in the financial services industry. Working with his son, Chris, also a financial professional, they continue to work with individuals and business owners to help them define their retirement goals and create strategies to help meet their objectives. He is active in community organizations, including the Strategic Planning Board for the Upper Room Spiritual Center and is an active member of St. Gabriel's Parish in Marlboro. Warenkiewicz has lived in Marlboro for 35 years with his family.

      The Chelsea Senior Living residence in Manalapan joins the Chelsea at Tinton Falls in achieving a perfect rating from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. The no-deficiency report followed a three-day inspection of the Chelsea, including resident apartments, the kitchen and dining room, Wellness Center, building safety systems and employee performance. It is the highest achievement an assisted living community can attain during a state inspection. Both residences are operated by Chelsea Senior Living, a New Jersey-based company operating a total of 13 assisted living communities in New Jersey and New York.

      HomeGoods shoppers nationwide currently have the opportunity to donate funds for cancer research and care as part of the ninth annual "Be a Hero" pin-up campaign benefiting the Jimmy Fund. The campaign will run in HomeGoods stores through Sept. 20. HomeGoods customers who would like to donate can purchase "Be a Hero" cards for $1 each with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Jimmy Fund, which supports research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. HomeGoods offers consumers an ever-changing selection of home fashions at discount prices in its 300 stores across the country. HomeGoods is owned by off-price retailer, The TJX Companies Inc.

      Jay's Shoe Box has returned to Marlboro at 280 Route 9 north, in the Cambridge Square shopping center, with a large selection of children's shoes. Its sister store in Livingston has been in business for 55 years.According to the store's owners,Marsha and Harry Goldstein, Jay's Shoe Box carries such brands as Primigi, Kenneth Cole, Stuart Weitzman, Converse, Enzo, Ecco, Tsukihoshi, Stride Rite, Geox, and a full selection of Uggs.       Powerful You! Women's Network will hold the "Conscious Connections" regional networking event from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at The Renaissance, 1110 Valley Road, Ocean Township.       JustMATH, an individualized tutoring company for math only, serving New Jersey for more than seven years, has launched an online site for math students in pre-algebra through advanced calculus. The site, www.justmathhelp.com, is available from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. The online tutors never just give answers, but guide students by making sure the math concepts necessary to answer a question are understood. The site is also available on Facebook and Twitter.

      Studio V Mind, Body and Soul will hold its first Spin-A-Thon to benefit the Ashley Lauren Foundation, a local charity that provides financial assistance and support services to families with children who have cancer.

      Spinners will pedal continuously from 5 p.m. Sept. 25 to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at the fitness center, 265 Route 34, Colts Neck. A barbecue, along with an auction and awards ceremony, will immediately follow.

      There is no limit to the number of team members; however, each member must raise a minimum of $200 in donations. Sponsors are also needed for the event.
