      Cecil W. Bastian
            Mr. Bastian, 92, a lifelong resident of Freehold, died July 12, 2009, at home under the care of Hospice. He was an engineer with the U.S. Army Signal Corps. at Fort Monmouth and Camp Evans until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Bastian was a lifelong amateur radio enthusiast and a former member of the civil defense and the Boy Scouts of America.

      Rose Cohen
            Mrs. Cohen, 97, of Clifton, with family in the area, died July 21, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, and a son-in-law, William. Surviving are three daughters, Lois Breakstone and her husband, Burt, Barbara Cohen and Terry Berk, of the Morganville section of Marlboro; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

      Michael James Richmond
            Michael James Richmond, infant son of James M. and Stephanie Preston Richmond of Freehold, died July 12, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Eugene Richmond in 2001; an uncle, Eugene Richmond Jr. in 1998; and a cousin, Graeme Preston in 2008.

      Rosemary A. Kenny
            died July 15, 2009. Born in Elizabeth, she resided in Parlin since 1954. Before her retirement, she was employed by Charles Komar & Sons in N.Y.C., where she worked as an accountant. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Rose Martin; her brother, Samuel; and her sister, ElizabethMeskill.

            Mrs. Shoukas, 42, of Tappahannock, Va., and formerly of the local area, died unexpectedly July 12, 2009. She attended Manalapan High School and Georgian Court University.

      Mona Selman
            Mrs. Selman 54, of Freehold and formerly of the Morganville section of Marlboro, died July 18, 2009. She was a career management consultant for Right Management, Princeton, and had been a national accounts manager for Fortune 500 companies for more than 20 years. Her mother, Barbara Fischer, died in 1991.

            Mrs. Suydam, 96, of Freehold, died July 17, 2009, at home. She was born in Newark and had resided in Englishtown before moving to Freehold. Mrs. Suydam attended the CrossPoint Baptist Church, Howell. Her husband, Frederick Suydam, died in 1994.

      Marie A. Pedulla
            Mr. Pedulla, 83, a 50-year resident of Howell, died July 19, 2009, at home. She worked as an investigator for the Monmouth County Division of Social Services, retiring in 1998. Mrs. Pedulla was a parishioner of St. Veronica Roman Catholic Church, Howell. She was a Red Hatter and a member of the Howell Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent J.
