Political committee seeks new members
      Covered Bridge 1 is forming the Covered Bridge Political Action Committee. To date 200 Covered Bridge residents have joined this organization. According to a press release, organizers are hoping to recruit a minimum of 500 members. These 500 or more will reach out to another 500 or more in Covered Bridge.

Sunrise Optimist Club to host golf event
      The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold will host the 25th annual Optimist Friend of Youth Open on Aug. 10 at Knob Hill Golf Club in Manalapan. All proceeds support Camp Quality New Jersey, which provides a free camping experience and support of other fun activities for children suffering from cancer. Registration starts at 7 a.m.

      • Monmouth Worship Center, 176 Route 79, Marlboro, is accepting registration for Vacation Bible School to be held Aug. 17-21 from 9 a.m. to noon. During this year's program. titled "Crocodile Dock," children entering preschool through grade 6 will "travel" to the Bayou and experience "swamp living" through Bible lessons, games, crafts and snacks.
