      BY AMY ROSEN Staff Writer

MANALAPAN — Police arrested two men on June 21 and charged them with burglarizing a Saratoga Drive home that was occupied by two teenage residents at the time the burglary was being committed.

Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky responded to a call from the home where a 16-year old girl and a 13-year-old boy had locked themselves in a room and called 911, according to information provided by Manalapan police.

According to police, one of the accused individuals entered the home by breaking a rear window. After allegedly ransacking rooms in the home, he fled after realizing that the two residents were in the home.

According to police, Ruditsky arrived on the scene as the two men were getting ready to drive away. He arrested Steven Devito, 19, of Marlboro, and Dimitri Snovsky, 23, of Englishtown.

Devito was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal attempt to commit theft, criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit burglary. Devito was initially remanded to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township. His bail was set at $75,000.

Snovsky was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and initially remanded to the Monmouth County jail. His bail was set at $15,000.

Police confirmed that Snovsky had recently been arrested on a separate burglary charge, but did not provide any additional information.

Devito was also implicated in another burglary.

Police said an investigation conducted by Detective Michael Ratta and Detective Leonard Maltese revealed that on June 12 during the daytime hours, Devito entered a Devon Drive South residence in Manalapan through an unsecured rear door and removed $6,500 worth of cash and jewelry from the residence.

Devito was charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespass in that incident. Bail on those charges was set at $45,000, making Devito's total bail amount for the two crimes $120,000.
