      St. Veronica pupils enjoy art of speaking

      On April 18 the St. Veronica School, Howell, seventh- and eighth-grade forensics teams competed in the Ranney School's Forensics Festival.

      A first-place Award of Excellence went to William Anderson and Sean Giblin in the category of Dramatic Pairs for Grade 8.

      A second-place Commendable Award went to Jessica Madeira in the category of Humorous Interpretation of Literature for Grade 7.

      A second-place Commendable Award went to Susan Schuld and Justin Alicea in the category of Dramatic Pairs for Grade 7.

      Honorable-mention recognition went to Gia Weber and Thomas DiBella in the category of Dramatic Pairs for Grade 7.

      Honorable mention recognition went to Gwendolyn Morris in the category of Storytelling for Grade 8.

      The St. Veronica forensics program is led by moderator and music teacher Loretta Boyle. Students undertake the art of public speaking, based on a particular theme or genre.
