Family appreciates community's support
      Mr. and Mrs. Correia would like to extend sincerest gratitude to the Freehold Fire Department for the spaghetti dinner/fundraiser held in honor of our son, Steven Correia, on April 4. Special thanks to Mitch Shatz and Robert Taylor for planting the seeds to such a charitable event in the spirit of camaraderie.

Thank you to post office employees for help
      On behalf of the volunteers and clients of Freehold Area Open Door, I would like to thank the letter carriers of the Freehold Post Office and all those who contributed to their food drive on May 9. The residents of our community were overwhelmingly generous, and the postal workers were kept very busy picking up and delivering food to our pantry.

      An article about a tour of affordable housing sites ("Tour Aims to Dispel Negative Image of Affordable Homes") in the May 20 News Transcript incorrectly attributed statements to Joanne Conroy of the Monmouth County Association of Realtors. The statements should have been attributed to Joan Lorwey, a member of the association.

State government should not cut reimbursement rate to program
      My name is David Miller, regional director for Young At Heart Medical Adult Day Care with two facilities in Ocean County, one in Brick Township and one in Jackson. Medical adult day care is a day program for the frail, elderly and senior population, as well as developmentally disabled and/or mentally challenged individuals.
