Hidden Gardens Tour will be held June 6
      Home gardens, located in the historic borough of Allentown and surrounding areas, will be open to the public on June 6 as part of the Allentown Garden Club's sixth Hidden Gardens Tour. The tour will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Maps with the locations of all the gardens will be distributed to ticket holders the day of the tour.

Church will host trip to BlueClaws game
      Bethel AME Church, Waterworks Road, Freehold, will host a trip to see the Lakewood BlueClaws play at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood June 15. The game will start at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and include round-trip transportation and admission. The bus will leave from the church at 6 p.m. sharp.

Concert to feature music from 1920s-'60s
      The Manalapan Library, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, will present The Great American Song Book, a free concert representing the period of the 1920s through the 1960s at 2 p.m. May 31. The show will feature the work of American composers such as Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart and Leonard Bernstein.

Scholarships open to health-care students
      The Joseph E. Enright Foundation is offering scholarships for students who are pursing a field in health care, including but not limited to nursing, radiology, medical and pharmacology. Students who reside in central to northern New Jersey are encouraged to apply. Each scholarship award is $1,000.

      The forensics team at Ranney School, Tinton Falls, recently took home top honors at the Ranney-hosted junior forensics festival for fifth- and sixth-grade students from Ranney, St. Jerome School in West Long Branch and St. Veronica School in Howell. All students received certificates of participation.

Volunteers sought for Manalapan Day booth
      The Manalapan-Englishtown Alliance for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse is seeking volunteers to provide face painting and also to wear a mascot costume at Manalapan Day on June 13. The alliance will have a booth set up with information about drug and alcohol abuse. Students who volunteer will earn community service and volunteer hours.

Motorcycle run will benefit scholarships
      Cross Point Baptist Church of Farmingdale will host a motorcycle run June 6 that will give participants a scenic ride along the back roads of Monmouth County while raising money for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. The fund benefits children of our Armed Forces personnel. Everyone who participates will be entered in the drawing for a 2007 Suzuki cruiser.
