      Items for CentraState timeline sought
            CentraState Healthcare Foundation is constructing a historic timeline of CentraState and is seeking items from the community for the exhibit. The purpose is to tell the complete story of CentraState, from its development stage almost 50 years ago to its beginning as a community hospital in 1971 and its current role today as a comprehensive health care system.

      Electronics recycling drive will be held
            The Colts Neck Reformed Church, 72 Route 537, Colts Neck, will host a community electronics recycling drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 23. Items that can be recycled include computer cases, CPUs, keyboards, monitors, scanners, printers, VCRs, cables, laptops, peripherals, radios, telephones, cameras, DVD players, stereo components and televisions under 32 inches.

      Auxiliaries raise record-setting funds
            The CentraState Associated Auxiliaries raised $90,000 in donations for CentraState Healthcare System last year, an all-time record. The Associated Auxiliaries conducted several fundraising events during the year and recently presented checks to CentraState administrators at an annual luncheon.

      Arc of Monmouth walkathon June 6
            The 11th annual Arc of Monmouth "Step Up for The Arc" walkathon will be held June 6 at Liberty Park II, West Park Ave, Tinton Falls, beginning at 9 a.m. All proceeds will benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There will be prizes, balloons, music, crafts, carnival games, giveaways, breakfast and lunch, all for free.

      Cancer Survivor Day includes Vince Papale
            A Cancer Survivor Day celebration that will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 7 at CentraState Medical Center, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township, will feature Vince Papale, former pro-football player for the Philadelphia Eagles. Papale, a colorectal survivor, was the inspiration for the 2006 major motion picture, "Invincible.

      Cabaret for Life show May 27 in Asbury
            Cabaret for Life (CFL), Ocean Grove, a local, nonprofit organization that provides musical theater to support charities for those affected by cancer and HIV/AIDS, will present the first of five shows, "Children Will Listen: The Musical Legacy of Oscar Hammerstein II and Stephen Sondheim," 7:30 p.m. May 27 at Tim McLoone's Supper Club, 1200 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park.

Those over age 50 are redhatter; those under age 50 are princess/pinkie and wear a pink hat.

      Car wash will benefit Relay For Life
            The Wings of Hope team at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 31 to raise funds for the American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life. The car wash will be held in the employee parking area on the emergency room side of the hospital at 901 W. Main St. A $5 donation is suggested.

      Dating violence prog. slated for June 4
            The Manalapan/Englishtown Community Alliance For the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse will hold a meeting titled "Break the Silence, Stop the Violence," at 4:45 p.m. June 4 at the Manalapan Senior Center at 211 Route 522. The program will be presented by Project Hope. An overview on date rape drugs will also be provided.
