      Colts Neck High School rode the talented right arm of Anthony De- Sclafani for the past four baseball seasons. DeSclafani seemed to pitch every big game for the Cougars as they became one of the Shore Conference's best baseball programs.

Unachukwu, Jackucewicz lead All-FRHSD track team
      Marlboro High School's multi-event star Ada Unachukwu and Colts Neck High School's distance standout Briana Jackucewicz provided the individual highlights of the 2008-09 high school indoor track and field season. Unachukwu had another dazzling season excelling on the track and in the jumps, where she broke her own Shore Conference triple jump record twice.

YMCA swimmers score in championship meets
      The YMCA of Western Monmouth County swim team competed in a number of championship meets over the past few weeks, highlighted by four YMCA state titles and a New Jersey YMCA state record and 13 new team records.

Andrews, Spadola lead track stars
      The 2008-09 high school indoor track and field season belonged to Manalapan High School's Robby Andrews. The Braves' senior put together a season that can rival any campaign that came before it and will be difficult to duplicate in the future. The University of Virginia-bound runner set two national records and won a national title this winter.

Softball teams open high school campaign
      The Colts Neck High School softball team will be looking to a high-octane offense to carry the Cougars in2009. "We're gong to hit," said Coach Chris Hoffman. In Kate Kuzma (Monmouth University) and D.J. Slugh (Hofstra) the Cougars have a pair of college-bound standouts.

Flounder action heats up

      Steady winds and April showers made it tough for most people who planned to get in the water this past weekend. Flounder fishing in the Raritan Bay is slowly turning up along with the ocean temperature. The Back Bay is also producing bass with about one out of five being a keeper so far. This is a great sign to kick off the bass season in the bay.
