Holland America Club welcomes new members

The purpose of our club, The Holland America Club, is to reach out to the many Dutch people who live in Central Jersey and recreate the famous Dutch coziness (gezelligheid) among ourselves with coffee and cookies and listen to our life's stories.

We celebrate specific Dutch festivals such as Queen Beatrix's birthday on April 30 and St. Nicolaas Day on Dec. 5 especially for the children of Dutch parents and a summer picnic. We meet every last Saturday of each month in the Colts Neck library. Our website, www.haccnj.org, gives more information about the club. There are no membership dues.

With our next meeting we will celebrate Queen Beatrix's birthday on April 25 in Orlando's Pizza Restaurant in the Becker's Hardware shopping center on Route 34 in Colts Neck at 1 p.m. We'll sing Dutch songs (vaderlandse liedjes).
