      A giant spring yard sale will be held April 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain date April 26) in the front parking lot of the Park Avenue Elementary School, Park Avenue (Route 33), Freehold. Anyone interested in selling gently used and/or new items may reserve a table space at a cost of $10 each. Participants should bring their own table and be ready to begin setting up at 7 a.m. All proceeds from the rental of space and sale of snacks will benefit the PTO, which supports student activities and programs at the school. Those interested in renting a space can call 732-308-3511. The deadline for space rentals and payment is April 22.

      • State Sen. Jennifer Beck, Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande will host a Tax Day Tea Party at Moore's Tavern, Route 537 and Stillwells Corner Road, Freehold Township, on April 15 to highlight voter anger with the cost of living in New Jersey.       The Freehold Art Society will hold an exhibit and sale of art work at the Freehold Public Library, East Main Street, Freehold, during library hours, through May. Details: 732-431-1039.

      A flower sale hosted by the Freehold First Aid Squad cadets will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 10-11 at 18 Spring St., Freehold.

      A free Easter egg hunt for preschoolers through age 9 (separate groups) will be held at 1 p.m. sharp April 11 at the Wemrock Orchards strawberry farm, 400 yards west of the country store, which is at 300 Route 33 west, Freehold Township. Complimentary activities will be available in addition to the Easter Bunny and farm animals.       An Easter plant sale, sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 258, will be held April 11- 12 at the following Howell locations: Sovereign Bank (Independence Bank) at the corner of Route 9 north and Salem Hill Road; Prince of Peace Church on Aldrich Road; the PNC Bank, Route 9 and Strickland Road; and Arby's, Route 9 south.

      Deep Cut Orchid Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 14 at the Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Ave., Tinton Falls. Bob Sprague will speak about orchids in the wild.       • Brookdale Computer Users Group will meet at 7 p.m. April 17 at Brookdale Community College, room MAS 100, Lincroft. The meeting is open to the public without charge.       An open hearth cooking demonstration will be held April 18 at the Covenhoven House, 150 West Main St., Freehold.       "GreenFest '09: Easy Solutions to Difficult Problems" will be presented at Temple Shalom, 5 Ayrmont Lane, Aberdeen, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 19.The free event will feature workshops on home safety and eating healthy, speakers, vendors offering green products and services, and children's activities that teach ecofriendly lessons.       • The National Council of Jewish Women will hold a membership meeting at noon April 22 at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan.       The Kiddie Academy of Millstone will host several events during the week of April 20 to commemorate the Week of the Young Child. Those activities include a bike-a-thon to raise money and awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and an early literacy event in which local celebrities visit the school to read a story.       A fashion show and gift auction hosted by the PTA of the Wemrock Brook School, Manalapan, will be held at 7 p.m. April 24 at the Radison Hotel, Freehold Township.       MS Manalapan AZA chapter 2068 of the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization will host a party for all Jewish sixth-, seventhand eighth-grade students in the area from 8-11 p.m. April 25 at Temple Beth Shalom, 108 Freehold Road, Manalapan. The admission charge of $15 per person will include music by B-Brothers Entertainment and refreshments. To coincide with the sports theme, attendees are encouraged to wear sports apparel.
