      Judge supt. on pupil performance & finances
            The reality of the investigation by the state Board of Education is that (Freehold Regional High School District Superintendent of Schools) James Wasser did nothing illegal and is not subject to any sanctions. He has gotten the benefit of his degree search and is running possibly the most effective high school district in our state.

      Utilities authority should heed suggestions from its customers
            Iread the response of the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority commissioners to Raymond Kostanty's inquiry into the billing methodology used by the WMUA ("WMUA Responds to Resident's Letter About Sewer Rates," News Transcript, Feb. 25). Quite frankly I don't get it.

      Tyrannical policies are breaking the will of New Jersey residents
            Only in New Jersey could black-robed "unelected" dictators — I mean judges — tyrannically find a constitutional right for citizens to have cheap housing at the expense of the taxpaying citizens, who somehow don't have that same right.

            Judging by their rebuttal letter in the Feb. 25 edition of the News Transcript ("WMUA Responds to Resident's Letter About Sewer Rates"), Western Monmouth Utilities Authority commissioners Abraham, Toubin, Rosen and Pernice either didn't bother to read completely my Feb.

      Optimists are looking for people who received awards
            Atouch of Optimism in this difficult year. The Freehold Optimist Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary. I am the oldest surviving member of the club (now in my 81st year), having joined in 1959. During those years our club accomplished many things in the community.
