      People suffering pain deserve marijuana choice
            I must respond to the Your Turn guest column written so eloquently by state Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini regarding the use of medical marijuana ("Too Many Problems With Medical Marijuana Use," News Transcript, Jan. 28). She begins by citing the evidence that marijuana is the most used illegal drug in America.

      Perhaps Dick Cheney's decisions should be considered null and void
            Thank you for Greg Bean's column of Jan. 21 which mentioned the feedback Mr. Bean said he received from people who did not like his column bidding farewell to Dick Cheney. ("After Obama's Inauguration, Cheney Will Be Out in the Cold," News Transcript, Jan. 14).

      Senator is wrong to undermine new COAH regulations
            My state senator is Jennifer Beck. She is a Republican. She has recently issued a press release that uses inflammatory language to express her party's opposition to a program that gives many New Jersey residents true housing choice. I disagree with a number of her comments and want to offer another point of view.

      Underage drinking will be subject of Feb. 5 meeting
            Alcohol is the most abused drug by the children in our community, more than tobacco use or any other illicit drug. In fact, 49 percent of seventh and eighth grade students have used alcohol, according to the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey. This is a serious problem that is not going away by itself.
