Irene Heider

Mrs. Heider, 73, of Freehold Township and formerly of Old Bridge, died Jan. 5, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was the school nurse at St. Thomas the Apostle School for more than 10 years and the Howell Middle School before retiring. She was a past president of St. Thomas the Apostle's Altar Rosary Society as well as a member of the St. Thomas Seniors. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, George; two sons, George Jr. and his fiancée, Marianne of Wilmington, Del., and Christopher and his wife, Eileen, of Freehold; a brother, Robert Diamonds of Scranton, Penn,; five sisters, Theresa Shalkauskas of Sayreville, Marion Novick of Creedmore, N.C., Aldona Oblick of Bethlehem, Penn., Rita Burford of Lecanto, Fla., and Lillian Sheehan of Centreville, Md.; and six grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery in Manalapan. The Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
