      Charles M. Helfrich

      Charles M. Helfrich, 84, of Wall Twp., died Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Manor By The Sea, Ocean Grove. Mr. Helfrich was born in Neptune Twp., and had lived in West Belmar and Wall Twp. He was an auto mechanic for P.W. Shermann, Asbury Park. Prior to that, he was a truck driver for Sambol Construction, Asbury Park. Mr. Helfrich was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II landing on Normandy Beach during the “D” Day Invasion. He served throughout the European Theatre with the 3609th Quartermaster Truck Company. He is survived by 2 Daughters, Shirley A. Kazlauskas of Howell Twp., and
      Patti Jean Clancy of Springhill, FL; 3 Sons, Charles Peter Helfrich of Springville, Utah,
      William Allen Helfrich of Perry, Arkansas, and Michael Dean Helfrich of Barnegat; 13 Grandchildren; 16 Great-grand children; many Great-Great-Grandchildren; a brother, William Helfrich of Las Vegas, Nev.; 4 Sisters, Margurite Newman of Wall,
      Catherine Maddocks of Wall, Dorothy Dombrowski of San Diego, Calif., and
      Linda Denton of Pennsylvania.

      SERVICE INFORMATION: Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Twp. on Monday, December 22, 2008, from 2-4 & 7-8:30 PM with his funeral service at 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
