It is the uniform, after all. The vast majority of the ice hockey players making history this winter in the Freehold Regional High School District's inaugural season hadn't played hockey before. But they admit there is something different about wearing a high school uniform with the name of their school on it. More ... What promises to be a very exciting girls basketball season will get started with the Jack Kuhnert Holiday Basketball Tournament. The tourney, which is dedicated to the late Freehold Borough boys head coach, starts on Saturday and will continue on Monday with the finals on Tuesday, Dec. 30. More ... The players have changed, but through it all, Brian Golub's Freehold Township boys basketball team has kept collecting championships. It's been five consecutive years and counting in the Shore Conference A North Division. Last year was supposed to be the year the division caught up to them, but despite having no returning starters, the Patriots won the title again. More ... They are now juniors, but the core of the Colts Neck High School girls basketball team has retained the same enthusiasm and passion for the sport that they had a freshmen.
