      Robby Andrews conquered the elements as well as a very strong field to capture the Central Jersey Group IV cross country championships. The stormy skies opened up just as the Group IV race went off Saturday at Thompson Park in Jamesburg, adding an additional challenge for the harriers.

      Howell High School's gymnastics team wanted to do it all this year, and they have. By all, the Rebels meant getting to Friday's NJSIAA Gymnastics Team Championship at Hunterdon Central High School. To get there, the Rebels made some history Saturday, capturing the Central Jersey Section I championship held at Manalapan High School for the first time.

      Freehold Pop Warner Giants' PeeWee Gold team will look to add to its memorial 2008 season on Sunday. The PeeWees will be playing the Clark (N.J.) Crusaders at Rumson-Fair Haven High School at 3 p.m. in the Pop Warner Eastern Region playoffs.

St. Rose girls win soccer title
Lady Jags were a perfect 10-0
      The St. Rose of Lima girls soccer team had a season for the ages. The Freehold Borough school captured the Monmouth County Intermediate School Soccer League's American Conference Division E crown in 2008, and the Lady Jaguars did it in style. St. Rose went a perfect 10-0 during the MCSSL campaign.
