Girl Scouts work together for beaches
      Howell/Farmingdale Girl Scout troops 1688 and 1002 recently merged and finished up their Bronze Award. For their service project they are making a "Keep Off the Dunes" sign to be put up at the Sandy Hook Visitors Center. In order to pay for the materials for the project, they recently held a car wash at which they raised over $350 in one day.

Freehold AAUW seeks used book donations
      Donations of used books are being accepted for the annual Freehold American Association of University Women used book sale. Adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books are welcome; textbooks are not accepted. Volunteers sought to work at blood drives
      NJ Blood Services, which supplies blood to 60 hospitals throughout the state, is in need of volunteers to work blood drives. The bloodmobile volunteer is an integral member of the blood collection team whose task it is assist donors with registration and perform canteen duties.
