      Jerry Acevedo, the girls softball and field hockey coach at Freehold Borough High School, has been inducted into the Montclair State University Athletic Hall of Fame. Acevedo, was a four-year starter at catcher for the Red Hawks softball team from 1995- 98 and was a three-time All-American.

The Rebel captured her third straight individual all-around title and more importantly, Howell regained the team championship, outscoring rival Red Bank Catholic, 110.15- 107.275, Saturday at Brick Memorial High School.
