            Mrs. Buckalew, 81, of Manalapan, died Oct. 15, 2008, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. She was born in Jamesburg and had resided in Millstone before moving to Manalapan. Mrs. Buckalew was a 41-year member of the Millstone Township Fire Company Auxiliary. Her husband of 63 years, Joseph "Uncle Buck" Buckalew, died in 2007.

            Mrs. Elitchko, 61, of Laurence Harbor, died at J.F.K. Haven Hospice, Edison. Born in New Brunswick, she had resided in Sayreville before moving to Laurence Harbor 15 years ago.             Mr. Romano, 70, of Manalapan, died Oct. 16, 2008, at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience in Philadelphia. Born in Trapani, Sicily, he lived in Newark before moving to Manalapan 38 years ago. Mr. Romano was a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service in Kearny before retiring in 2003.

            Mr. Schneider, 88, a resident of Marlboro for 27 years, died Oct. 13,, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township. He was an auditor and assistant comptroller for Union Carbide Inc., in Manhattan for 35 years before retiring in 1978. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, in 2006.
