      St. Peter's Church to host holiday bazaar
            A holiday bazaar will be held at St. Peter's Church, 33 Throckmorton Street, Freehold, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 22 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23. The event will feature baked goods; baskets of jam; gifts in a jar; hand crafted jewelry, ornaments and gifts; cookbooks, an "Attics Treasures Sale;" and historic Freehold Afghans for sale.             AVendor Night will be held at Freehold Learning Center (FLC), 30 Dutch Lane Road, Freehold, 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 14. Vendor spaces are still available for $20 and $25.             Pine Brook School, Manalapan, is seeking vendors for a vendor night to be held at the school, 155 Pease Road, on Nov. 21 from 6-10 p.m. Tables will be supplied. The fee to register is $35. One vendor per brand name franchise business will be allowed to participate.

      Scholarships open to accounting students
            The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) is now accepting applications for the society's high school and college scholarship programs. The NJSCPA High School Scholarship Program is open to all New Jersey high school seniors planning on majoring in accounting. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, an essay and personal interview.

            The Marlboro Township Veterans & Volunteers Committee will sponsor a veterans outreach and information forum 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Marlboro Recreation Center, 1996 Recreation Way, Marlboro. The veterans forum will be sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System.

      Flag retirement ceremony in Marlboro
            A flag retirement ceremony sponsored by the Jewish War Veterans Post 972 Seth Dvorin Unit and the Marlboro Township Veterans & Volunteers Committee will be held at the Marlboro Township Veterans Memorial at Marlboro Town Hall, 1979 Township Drive at 11 a.m. Nov. 16. A Veterans Honor Guard and a Full Military Salute will be present to retire the Colors.

      Temple dedicates new playground area
            A new playground was dedicated for Marlboro's Temple Rodeph Torah's Nursery School at its annual Selichot barbecue. The playground is named "Poppa's Playground," in memory of Alvin Brenner. Alvin is the father of temple member Claudia Schreiber. About 100 people attended the barbecue and dedication. The barbecue was followed by a service celebrating Selichot.
