Church launches new recovery program

Abundant Life Church of God recently launched a new weekly recovery program called "Celebrate Recovery."

The program is designed to specifically help anyone who is struggling with issues such as divorce, alcohol/drug addictions, codependency, food/eating addictions, sexual addiction and anger, fear and anxiety. It addresses more than just chemical dependencies.

"Freedom from life's hurts, hang-ups and habits" is the slogan and mission statement of Celebrate Recovery, which seeks to help people who are struggling with the shame and pain of all types of addictions, compulsive behaviors or negative emotions.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christian recovery program based on the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. Anonymity and confidentiality are respected in the program.

Weekly meetings are held every Thursday at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Abundant Life Church of God, 632 Colts Neck Road (Route 537 east), Freehold. All are welcome. On-site child care is provided. Details: 732-409-2923, www.alcog.org or e-mail ajfreehold@aol.com.
