      Library to host tribute to the music of Ray Charles
            The Grover Kemble Sextet will perform a jazz concert titled "Reflections of Ray: A Tribute to the Music of Ray Charles" at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive 2 p.m. Sept. 21. Kemble's affection for the music of Ray Charles began at about age 11 when he first heard the musical legend.

      DeBows Youth Praise Band seeks new members
            The Youth Praise Band of the DeBows United Methodist Church has openings for instrumentalists and back-up singers. Under the direction of Noah Carmichael and Gwynne Mahns, the band rehearses on Sundays at 5 p.m. The church is located at the intersection of routes 571 and 537, across from the Outlet Mall in Jackson.       University offers trip to Broadway show
            Join Georgian Court University for a trip to see the 2008 Tony Award winner for best musical, "In the Heights," on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. "In the Heights" is a new musical about three days in the life of Washington Heights, a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan.

      Women's Auxiliary sells Entertainment books
            FREEHOLD — The Women's Auxiliary of Freehold Elks Lodge No. 1454 is selling the "Entertainment 2009" book as a fundraiser for the organization. The books cost $25 each. Proceeds from the sale of the Entertainment books typically go to specialneeds children, veterans and troops, and scholarships for those in the Freehold area.
