      Cut-a-thon for Michael's Feat slated for Sept. 28
            Peter Conte Salon and Spa, 128 Main St., Matawan, will host a cut-a-thon for Michael's Feat from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 28, during which 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Michael's Feat. The Michael Gerard Puharic Memorial Fund Inc. (Michael's Feat), Aberdeen, is dedicated to assisting local families carrying and caring for seriously ill newborns.

            The Executive Board of the Freehold Rotary Club announced the award of two $1,000 scholarships to students from the Freehold Regional High School District. The students, Kathlyn Herrick of Colts Neck High School and Jackie Yiu of Freehold Township High School, received their scholarships at the June 10 Rotary Club meeting.
