            Mr. Williams, 92, of Freehold, died Aug. 11, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Brownsville, Tenn., and was a self-employed construction worker before his retirement.

      Joseph Tolve
            Mr. Tolve, 91, of Englishtown and formerly of Spotswood, died Aug. 14, 2008, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was a selfemployed butcher and a mechanic for New York Department of Parks in Brooklyn, New York, for 30 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Tolve served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

            Mr. Winston, 42, of Clarksburg in Millstone and formerly of Edison, died Aug. 15, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township. He received a baseball scholarship from Rutgers University and continued playing professionally for 12 years. Mr.

      Sondra Gitlin
            Mrs. Gitlin, 69, of Freehold, died recently. She was a teacher for the Manalapan-Englishtown School District for more than two decades. Mrs. Gitlin is survived by her husband, Louis; two daughters, Randi Markel and Alyse Nola, both of Freehold; two brothers, Lloyd Plovnick of Howard Beach, N.Y., and Marvin Plovnick of Delray Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

            Mrs. Scherer, 84, of Freehold Township died Aug. 14, 2008, at home. She was born in Rytro, Poland, and attended the University of Wroclaw, Poland. Surviving are her husband, Leon Scherer; a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Janice Scherer; a daughter and son-in-law, Irit and Bertil Nordin; and four grandchildren.

      John "JoJoe" K. Bacharde Sr.
            Mr. Bacharde, 55, of Matawan, died Aug. 21, 2008, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was a mail clerk at the U.S. Postal Service, Middletown, for more than 30 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Moroney Bacharde.

      Patricia Ann Mascia
            Patricia Ann Mascia, 67, of Manchester and formerly of Marlboro and Old Bridge, died Aug. 21, 2008, at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. She worked as a nurse for the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Conn., for many years and as a home health care and dialysis nurse. Surviving are her father, Philip Raccio of Pompano Beach, Fla.
