      The New Jersey Audubon Society members Nano Mardones and Leslie Roche will lead bird walks within Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Manalapan, 8:15 a.m. Sept. 6 and 21, Oct. 11 and 19, Nov. 2, 16 and 30,and Dec. 14. The free walks will explore paths, cornfields, orchards and the woods at the park.

Manalapan receives safety and loss control award
      Statewide Insurance Fund Chairman Robert Cutter presented Manalapan Deputy Mayor Susan Cohen and Township Administrator Tara Lovrich with a plaque recognizing the township's commitment to safety throughout 2007. Holiday Express Sunset Clambake Sept. 14
      The Holiday Express annual fundraiser normally held in November will be held on the beach this year. The first Sunset Clambake will be 5-10 p.m. Sept. 14 at Merri Makers at the Water's Edge, Sea Bright. Cost is $200 per guest and includes a buffet and open bar. Women's 'Saturday in the Park' in Holmdel Aug. 30
      Jersey Shore Running Club will host the 15th "Saturday in the Park — Women Taking Steps to Help Women," 9 a.m. Aug. 30 at Holmdel Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. (rain or shine). The event will raise funds for and promote awareness of organizations that provide services to women and their children in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
