MTEA names academic scholarship winners
      Alex Kramer, of Marlboro, was one of two recipients of the Marlboro Township Education Association's (MTEA) academic scholarships. The MTEA awards two scholarships each year to either a graduating high school senior who has gone through the Marlboro Township school system or to a graduating senior whose parent is a member of the MTEA.

Teen battle of the bands will be held at library
      A Teen Battle of the Bands in which five local teen bands will compete for prizes will be featured at the Marlboro Library, Wyncrest Road, at 1 p.m. June 28. Teens can celebrate the end of school and the beginning of a summer of reading. There is no charge to attend.

Register for Monmouth Conservatory's camps
      The nonprofit Monmouth Conservatory of Music, 50 White St., Red Bank, is taking registration for its summer music programs that begin July 14. Music camp for age 6-8 includes chorus, keyboard and other musical activities. Tuition is $250 per week. Strings camp is for beginning and intermediate players with at least one-year experience. Chorus experience is included.

      The Howell Municipal Alliance will offer a limited number of internships for the fall and winter semesters. The alliance will also have membership positions open as of Jan. 1. The alliance membership consists of Howell Police, Howell and Freehold Regional School Districts, area service clubs and concerned citizens.
