      Carol Marie Morrissey (nee Zmitrovis)

      Carol Marie Morrissey (nee Zmitrovis)
      Carol Marie Morrissey (nee Zmitrovis), 46, a teacher living in Virginia, died May 28, 2008. Carol grew up in Freehold, New Jersey. She attended Rutgers University, completing her undergraduate degree in 1984 as an Henry Rutgers scholar and graduating with highest honors in Sociology. She was a member of the Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority. She moved to the Washington DC area where she married William Jay Morrissey in 1986. She worked at Sidley and Austin as a law librarian for more than twenty years. While working full-time she attended law school at night and received her JD from George Mason Law School in 1989. Morrissey decided to pursue a career as an educator, and after again going to night school, she received her Master's in Education from University of Virginia in 2005. In 2006 she began teaching Reading at Neabsco Elementary School in Woodbridge, Virginia. Carol loved her students and loved teaching them. When they all passed their Standards of learning test, she was thrilled. Carol is survived by her husband,William Jay Morrissey (husband) and two daughters all of Arlington Va. Additional survivors include her sister Patrice Zmitrovis (Berlin, MD), brother Robert Zmitrovis (New Brunswick, NJ), Mother Irene Zmitrovis (Quincy, PA), mother-in-law Marlene Morrissey, two sister-in-laws and families Cara and Fred Streb and Gail and Paul Harding and many nephews, nieces, cousins.
