      Entries now accepted for senior citizen art contest
            Entries are now being accepted for Monmouth County's annual 2008 senior citizen art contest and exhibition scheduled for July 3-31 at Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Symmes Road, Manalapan. Entry deadline is June 20. Residents age 60 and older are invited to submit one piece of original, visual art for the contest.

      Taylor Mills third-graders write original choral piece
            Taylor Mills School, Manalapan, recently hosted the world premiere performance of a choral work composed by three third grade students. Bryanna Lorenz, Nicole Carara and Rebecca Rutherford are all members of the Third Grade Chorus, which presented its Spring Concert May 20 and May 21 at the school.

      Cabaret Night slated for May 30 in Manalapan
            The Manalapan Arts Council will present Cabaret Night at 7 p.m. May 30 in the ballroom at the Knob Hill Country Club, Route 33, Manalapan. The evening will feature music and dancing performed by residents of Manalapan. There will be a free drawing and prizes for those who attend. Dinner reservations are required.       Deep Cut Orchid Society to meet June 10
            Deep Cut Orchid Society will meet June 10 at 7:30 p.m. atMonmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Ave., Tinton Falls. Guest lecturer Diana Klieman will discuss growing plants under lights in a basement greenhouse. There will also be a show table of flowering orchids grown by members, as well as refreshments, a plant raffle and door prize.
