      Park surrounding battlefield deserves to remain open
            The Battleground Historical Society was organized 39 years ago. One of its many achievements was in saving a 1723 former tavern from destruction in the borough of Englishtown. The importance of saving this tavern was because it was on the pathway that the Continental troops took on their march to fight Gen. Clinton's British Army.
