It is not xenophobic to want illegal aliens out of the United States

Once again, Frank Argote- Freyre rallies to the aid of illegal aliens (coyly referring to them as "immigrants"), placing their wellbeing above those of American citizens ("Federal 287(g) Program Would Not Be Constructive Action," News Transcript, Letters to the Editor, April 2).

Richard Kelsey is not a member of the xenophobic fringe; he is one of millions of Americans who are disgusted with lawmakers who refuse to protect our borders from the massive illegal immigration we have today.

He is one of the 80 percent of Americans who want our borders secured. What is xenophobic about wanting everyone to obey the laws of the United States?

What is xenophobic about wanting to preserve our country, our flag, our national anthem, our national identity and our English language? Nothing!

Illegal aliens cost us $200 billion per year and $2.1 billion per year in New Jersey alone. They ruin the quality of education in our schools because we are diverting money from our children's education just to teach them English.

They are bankrupting our hospitals because they do not pay for the services they receive. They are stealing jobs from Americans and lowering wages for anyone competing for jobs that they take.

They are ruining our social systems. They create dangerous overcrowding wherever they live because they disregard housing ordinances.

They drive illegally. They buy and use fraudulent documents whenever they find it convenient. Whatever law we have, if it is an impediment to them, they disregard it.

Mr. Argote-Freyre conveniently forgets all of these facts when supporting illegal immigration. He resorts to name calling as a defense for his pro-illegal alien position.

I do not understand why Mr. Argote-Freyre so strongly advocates illegal immigration, but he needs to know that most Americans would be thrilled if the illegals would leave and "self deport."

Since 1776, we have done spendidly without illegal aliens. Just think of what we can do with an extra $200 billion dollars per year. More help for our wounded veterans, more college scholarships for our children, less taxes for our citizens, etc. etc.
