      Young harness driver Marx paying his dues
            Like many 21-year-olds joining the work force, Mike Marx Jr. works very long hours. But that is where the comparison ends between him and his peers. You won't see Marx in a suit and tie. He works outdoors, driving and training standardbred racehorses. The hours are long and the work very hard, but very rewarding at the same time.

      All-Americans top District track team
      Unachukwu, Linnell and Jackucewicz lead team
            Record-setters Ada Unachukwu and Allison Linnell gave the 2007-08 girls indoor track and field season a big boost. Unachukwu was busy rewriting the Freehold District records in the sprints and jumps all year and was All-American in the triple jump.

            Manalapan's Robby Andrews kept running excellence alive in the Freehold Regional District. Running indoor track for the very first time, Andrews packed a career full of highlights into one season, led by his first NJSIAA Meet of Champions title.

      Goode happy to be jumping outdoors
      Track season opens Saturday with Rebel Relays
            Marcus Goode is happy that track and field has moved outdoors. Goode, a senior at Freehold Township, is one of those track athletes whose best events are seldom contested indoors- the triple jump and long jump. "There are a lot more meets, more opportunities to do something," said Goode on the outdoor season. "I used the indoor season to build towards outdoors.

      Braves' Presby, Foley sign letters of intent
            After rushing for more than 1,000 in each of the last two seasons, Manalapan's Dave Presby will be carrying the football for Monmouth University. Presby made it official signing his National Letter of Intent to the West Long Branch school.

            Manalapan's Ashley Rampino, a freshman at Manhattan College, was named the Middle Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week. Rampino went the distance in Manhattan's 9-1 victory over Alabama State. She did not allow an earned run and gave up just three hits. She fanned four in the five-inning outing.

      Marlboro Jr. Mustangs wrestlers get results
            Marlboro Junior Mustang wrestlers enjoyed success on all levels this season. The varsity went 12-0 in dual meets and won the Monmouth County League championship.
