      Pupils explore interesting people on BiographyDay
            MARLBORO - Familiar names such as civil rights activist Rosa Parks and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell, along with some less familiar names such as Maggie Lena Walker and Eleanor Ramrath Garner were represented at the Marlboro Memorial Middle School's recent Biography Day.

      School board member will seek committee nomination
            MANALAPAN - Ryan Green confirmed this week that he has asked to be considered for nomination as a Republican Party candidate in this year's race for two seats on the Township Committee. Green is a member of the Manalapan- Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education.

      Public hearing scheduled on $110M school budget
            HOWELL - The Howell Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2008-09 school budget at 8 p.m. March 19 at Howell Middle School North, Squankum-Yellowbrook Road. According to a legal notice that was published in a local daily newspaper on March 14, the board has introduced a budget totaling $110.2 million for the 2008-09 school year.

      Mr. MHS competition brings out school spirit
      Senior boys say event is a great way to finish high school
            MARLBORO - A group of 10 senior boys at Marlboro High School vied for the title of Mr. MHS on Feb. 7, with Brett Nadrich taking home the crown. Senior Anthony Charette, 21, of Howell, took home the title ofMr. Nice Guy, an award voted upon by his fellow contestants.

            MARLBORO - The cafetorium at the Marlboro Memorial Middle School on Nolan Road was filled with the sounds of familiar childhood tunes such as "Conjunction Junction," "Do the Circulations" and "Just a Bill" as members of the school's drama club performed "Schoolhouse Rock Live!

      Teacher shares experience of trip to Ghana, Africa
            HOWELL - Howell High School concluded its celebration of Black History Month on Feb. 26 with a visit from David Hunt, who teaches social studies at Manalapan Social Studies. Hunt made a presentation before the Howell student body about his cultural experience in Ghana, Africa.
