Let the people decide if they support a train
Ijust read in the newspaper that Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik and Township Council President Jeff Cantor are opposing the famous Lakehurst to Matawan rail line (let's call it the train). Let me tell you that you are not speaking for me. I would also venture to say that the majority of Marlboro residents will support the proposed Lakehurst to Matawan train.

Town must keep going after residential overcrowding
It seems to me from what I read in the papers that the Freehold Borough code enforcement department is trying to take a stand against illegal renters and overcrowding and making sure the landlords and homeowners are not overloading their rental properties from cellar to attic with hoards of illegal men, women and children.

It is happening again, kind of like the swallows coming back to San Juan Capistrano … teachers in red shirts on Fridays at our local K-8 schools, pickets and homemade signs outside the Manalapan-Englishtown Board of Education offices before the weekends, and still no contract settlement between the teachers union and the board.

Resident is still attempting to settle lawsuit with town
The saying goes that "no good deed goes unpunished." Perhaps "no bad deed is forgiven" would be more appropriate. I have been a lifelong resident of Marlboro and despite our criminal problems, my partners and I have always considered Marlboro our hometown, having grown up here and invested our life's savings in this town that we love.

Writers question WMUA's one-size-fits-all billing practice
How does one start a letter that affects thousands of homeowners? We are referring to the gross inequities that the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority has foisted on all homeowners. We are homeowners in Covered Bridge andmembers of the Covered Bridge Condominium Association Board of Trustees.
