      Production nominated for six Basie awards

      Colts Neck High School's production ofWilliam Shakepeare's "AMidsummer Night's Dream" has been nominated for six Count Basie awards. The Count Basie Theatre is in its third year of bestowing such annual awards in nine categories of excellence to Monmouth County and Ocean County high school productions.

      The Colts Neck nominees are as follows: Outstanding Direction in a Drama:Allyson Glasser; Outstanding Set Design in a Drama: Ted Scheffler; Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama:Michelle Tanen; Outstanding LeadActor in a Drama: Charles Easton; Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama: Evan Preminger; Outstanding Costume Design in a Drama: Christina Jannone.

      The awards presentation is modeled after Broadway's Tony awards, with a red carpet arrival for nominees. This year's presentation will take place on the stage of the Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, on May 21, after additional nominations are made for spring musicals.
