      Sports Shorts

      ActionGymnasticsAcademy,Howell, has had considerable success in recent competitions. At the Parkette Invitational, the Level 4 team finished in first place with a score of 113.2. Seven of the 7-year-olds at the competition finished among the top 10, led by the All Around champion Alexandra Cucich with a score of 38.05. She was also first on the balance beam (9.6). She was second on the uneven bars (9.55) and third on the vault (9.5) and floor exercise (9.4).

      Ava Caruso (37.55), Melissa Astarita (37.50) and Tara Zeni (37.00) were third, fourth and fifth in theAA.

      Talia Hanaburgh (36.55) and Kylie Caputo (36.55) were seventh and eighth and Adrea Fortanet, 10th (35.95).

      Chelsea Tse was eighth in the AA (35.075). She tied for second on the uneven bars (9.300).

      At the Winter Bowl in Sewell, Kaitlyn Reszlowski won the Level 9 Junior B AA scoring 34.300. She was first on the beam (8.750) and second on the vault (8.500) and bars (8.800).

      The Monmouth Gymnastics Academy's Cyclones boys teamwon the Level 7 and Level 6 team championships at the Brian Babcock Invitational, hosted by Parkettes inAllentown, Pa.

      At Level 7 Class IV age 11, Mikael Khachatryan led the Cyclones with an eighth place in the all around. (52.6).Hewas second on the pommel horse and fourth on the rings. Michael Egna scored 51.1 in the AA and was 13th in the AA. His best event was the vault, where he was fifth. Joseph Luca also competed for the age 11 team,

      Matthew Manino was sixth in the Level 7Class IVAAwith a 49.75 score.Hewas second on the floor and vault and sixth on the high bar.

      Leading the Level 6 Class V team in age 7-9,was ParkerAdamo,whowas fifth in the AA(54.55).Hewas second on the floor, third on the horse, fifth on the vault, sixth on the high bar and 10th on the parallel bars.

      T.J.Orricowas sixth in theAA(54.3) and was fifth on the horse, sixth on t he floor, seventh on the p-bars and high bar and eighth on the rings.

      Michael Luca also competed for the ages 7-9 team.

      Christopher Graff won the all around in age 11 with a score of 57.6. He was first on the floor, rings and p-bar, second on the vault and high bar and fifth on the horse
