      Impact of state law as it relates to special education still an issue
            MARLBORO- During a special meeting with theMarlboro Board of Education, state Sen. Jennifer Beck (R-Monmouth and Mercer) said there is a lot going on in education in New Jersey. Representatives of the school board and the municipality met with local legislators last week to get an update on issues relating to school funding.

      Kindergarten registration set
            FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP- Registration packets for the 2008-09 Freehold Township School District's full-day kindergarten program are now available in the elementary schools during regular school hours.       Parents, pupils share activities
            MANALAPAN- Kindergarten parents and students shared a day immersed in reading activities at the John I. Dawes Early Learning Center on Dec. 14. Teachers hosted the first Early Literacy Counts event to promote language-based activities that enrich early literacy and reading strategies.

      High school stores expected to comply with regulations
            Freehold Regional High School District administrators expected to have a situation involving school stores resolved this week. And by the start of the next school year a complete review of the operation of the school stores is expected to take place, according to Superintendent of Schools James Wasser.

      School board hopefuls may pick up nominating petition
            MARLBORO - Nominating petitions for residents who want to run for a seat on the Marlboro K-8 School District Board of Education may be picked up in the office of the district's business administrator. Business Administrator and Board Secretary Cindy Barr-Rague said petitions may be picked up in her office Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
