Animal rescue fundraiser slated for Oct. 7
      The borough of Freehold will sell to the highest bidder various items of surplus, found or seized property. The sale will be conducted by Property Bureau Inc. on their auction Web site www.propertyroom. com beginning Oct. 1. The items for sale include bicycles, cars and equipment. The borough makes no guarantee or warranty as to the goods offered for sale.

'Nutcracker' auditions being held in Red Bank
      The Performing Arts Ensemble, a nonprofit organization based in Red Bank, will be holding auditions for its annual Nutcracker presentation Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Galleria, Red Bank. The ensemble is looking for all kinds of dancers including boys and girls ages 4-12, teens, pointe dancers, gymnasts and male actors. All ability levels are welcome.
