Lindsay Markel, 13, daughter of Adam and Randi Markel of Freehold Township, has been selected to represent New Jersey at the 2007 Miss American Preteen Pageant. As the New Jersey Preteen, Lindsay will be attending the national pageant for her age group in Florida and Disney World during the week of Thanksgiving. She will compete for the national pageant title of Miss American Preteen and thousands of dollars in cash awards, prizes and scholarships, according to a press release.

Lindsay is an honor student at the Barkalow Middle School. She dances on the competition team at Dancin on the Edge dance studio in Freehold.
